From the LifeKeeper GUI menu, select Edit, then Resource. From the drop down menu, select Delete Dependency. Click Next to proceed to the next dialog box.
In the Server box, select a server in the cluster where the resource resides. The dependency will be deleted from all the hierarchies where the resource has been extended.
Note: If you selected the Delete Dependency task by right clicking from either the left pane on a global resource or the right pane on an individual resource instance, this dialog will not appear. If you right clicked on a resource instance in the right pane, the value of the Server will be the server for that instance. If you right click on a global resource in the left pane, the value of the Server will default to the server currently designated as primary server for the selected global resource instance. The primary server is defined as the server where the resource has the highest priority.
From the drop down box, select the Parent Resource Tag where the child resource dependency resides. The drop down box will only display tag names of resource instances with dependencies. You will identify the specific Child Resource Tag in the next dialog box. Click Next to proceed to the next dialog box.
Note: If you selected the Delete Dependency task by right clicking from either the left pane on a global resource or the right pane on an individual resource instance, this dialog will not appear. If you right clicked on a resource instance in the right pane, the value of the Parent Resource Tag will be the tag corresponding to that particular resource instance. If you right click on a global resource in the left pane, the value of the Parent Resource Tag will default to the tag corresponding to the resource instance on the primary server for the selected global resource.
Select the Child Resource Tag from the drop down box. This should be the tag name of the dependent resource you want to delete. Click Next to proceed to the next dialog box.
A dialog box appears to confirm that you have selected the appropriate parent and child resource tags for your dependency deletion. Click Delete Dependency to delete the dependency and proceed to the next dialog box.
Another information box appears showing the results of the dependency deletion and confirming that the dependency was deleted successfully. Click Done to exit the Delete Dependency menu selection.
