Bringing a Resource In Service

  1. From the Edit menu, point to Resource and then click In Service.

  2. From the list of all the servers in the cluster, select the Server on which you want to bring the resource into service. Click Next to proceed to the next dialog box.

  3. From the list of all the resources on the server you selected in the previous step, select one or more resources that you want to bring into service. Click Next to proceed to the next dialog box.

  4. A dialog box appears confirming the server and resource(s) that you have selected to bring into service. Any related resources associated with the action are noted in the confirmation dialog. Click In Service to bring the resource into service.

  5. An information box appears showing the results of the resource(s) being brought into service. Click Done to exit out of the In Service menu selection.

  6. Errors that occur while bringing a resource in service are logged in both the LifeKeeper log and the GUI log of the server on which you want to bring the resource into service. 

Other Ways to Bring a Resource into Service

If you right-click on a global resource from the left pane:

  1. Click In Service from the popup menu.

  2. From the list of all the servers in the cluster, select the Server on which you want to bring the resource into service. Click Next to proceed to the next dialog box.

  3. A dialog box appears confirming the server and resource that you have selected to bring into service. Click In Service to bring the resource into service.

  4. A information box appears showing the results of the resource being brought into service. Any resource dependencies associated with the action are noted in the confirmation dialog. Click Done to exit out of the In Service menu selection.

If you right-click on an individual resource instance from the right pane:

  1. Click In Service from the popup menu. A dialog box appears confirming the server and resource that you have selected to bring into service. Click In Service to bring the resource into service.

  2. A information box appears showing the results of the resource being brought into service. Any resource dependencies associated with the action are noted in the confirmation dialog. Click Done to exit out of the In Service menu selection.
